Galing Likha – Kalusugan AwardsThursday, December 10th, 2015
Hotel Intercontinental, Makati City – LiFEDATA was privileged to have been given an Award of Merit for its Electronic Medical Record system in the Galing Likha – Kalusugan Awards held at the Hotel Intercontinental last September 4, 2012.
The Galing Likha-Kalusugan Awards is the culmination of a year long search for the best health system innovations in the Philippines. It gives recognition to model programs that have contributed to the improvement of healthcare system by being pro-poor and innovative; by having the appropriate technology to facilitate improvement; by bringing significant impact to the field of healthcare delivery.
The search was undertaken under the auspices of the project, “Health Market Innovations in the Philippines” (HIMP), which is being implemented by the Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS) in collaboration with the Center for Health Market Innovations (CHMI). This project is being funded by the Rockefeller Foundation and highlights the invaluable contributions in making healthcare more accessible, available and affordable to Filipinos.
The HMIP forms part of a wider global effort to identify, document and disseminate innovative schemes, activities, projects, programs, policies and regulations intended to promote socially beneficial private sector involvement, or public/private partnership in the health sector. It aims to gather and analyze health market innovations in the country for the purpose of dissemination and replication of successful models on health.
This Award of Merit commends LiFEDATA’s cloud based electronic medical record system for its comprehensive and integrated approach of organizing patient records, keeping track of doctor’s schedules, managing referrals, and storing medical charts and notes of providers. The efficiency, mobility and security features of this software are groundbreaking, and its ability to link hospitals, HMOs and drugstores will be much valued as the Philippine health financing system evolves rapidly in the future.
