Php Developers Summit 2013

PASIG CITY – LiFEDATA Systems, Inc. participated in the recent PHP Developers Summit last April 20, 2013 hosted by PHPUGPH (PHP User Group Philippines) and sponsored by Microsoft Philippines and Globe Labs. The LiFEDATA team was composed of 10 delegates headed by our CTO, Randy Nivales. The PHP Developers Summit is participated by web professionals, enthusiasts, freelancers, educators and companies that use PHP and PHP-related technologies. This year, the day-long summit was held in Chardonnay by Astoria in Pasig City.

Michael Cheng of the Singapore PHP User Group flew all the way from Singapore to discuss Unit Testing and Test Driven Development. Alvin Gendrano and Edison Tan of Microsoft Philippines talked about PHP support in Microsoft Openness and Microsoft Azure Cloud Services. Ragde Falcis showed the web application developed by GoRated.PH and discussed the ins and outs of a startup Web company. Tim Hawkins of US Auto Parts, a renowned author on PHP and MongoDB, shared his expertise in his discussion of using NoSQL, particularly MongoDB, with PHP. RJ David of Sulit.com.ph shared his experiences in transforming his company to the top Philippine web site in a few years. And finally, Christian Blanquera demonstrated EdenPHP, a PHP library developed by Openovate Labs.

After the sessions ended, a raffle was held for the participants. The grand prize was won by LiFEDATA’s Rizal Nevado, Lead Developer for Lifestyle applications, who took home a touch-screen Asus X220E laptop with Microsoft Windows 8.
